Alan Booker
FOUNDER, INSTITUTE OF INTEGRATED REGENERATIVE DESIGN
Alan Booker is the founder and executive director of the Institute of Integrated Regenerative Design, training professionals to create ecosystemic and regenerative systems. With over 35 years in systems engineering and 25 years in regenerative and sustainable design, he created the Integrated Regenerative Design framework and is the author of the Biocompatible Design Standard.
Alan is an internationally recognized teacher of Permaculture and Regenerative Design, providing consulting on regenerative technologies, sustainable community design, watershed restoration, bioremediation, regenerative agroecology, sustainable buildings, and community food production systems.
Alan is also a leading advocate of community food security, having developed an integrated foodshed model that addresses food sovereignty and access to a diet that provides high nutritional integrity across all scales of population density, from urban cores out to rural communities. He has consulted with numerous governmental and civic organizations to help increase access to local foods in ways that build community resilience and improve community health.
